2019 Pray Tell Willamette Valley Chardonnay
Chardonnay continues to be the varietal that I sharpen my teeth on. It is exacting and each year proves to be formative. The 2019 vintage was idyllic for the varietal in Oregon. Harvested in early September, I pressed the grapes slowly (over the course of several hours) for super gentle extraction. It was fermented and aged in neutral French oak to allow for preservation of freshness and transparency of vineyard characteristics. Selective barrel stirring over the course of cellaring lends itself to textural grace. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 175 cases total production.
